Music in 2017
2017 is set to be an exciting year for Music at St George’s! As well as the several performances we have lined up for our Rock and Pop group and any children involved in musical instrument tuition, we are proud to announce that we will be releasing our first ever St George’s School Song! The song is called ‘Our School Song’ and was written by and performed by our very own future pop-stars here at St George’s! It is our aim to teach this song to the whole school during singing assemblies, so that everyone can join in and sing with pride about our wonderful song!
Here it is!
Here are the lyrics to ‘Our School Song’. Written by the children of St George’s!
Hits Through The Ages
On Monday 3rd April, 2017, 27 Year 5 students took part in a collaborative singing project put together by Martine Burt and the Dorset Music Service. The children from St George’s School performed a total of 5 number one hit songs from artist ranging from One Direction to Oasis.
The children did fantastically on the night. Their behaviour was immaculate and they sung until they dropped. All of the staff who came along to support could not speak highly enough of how great they were and how brilliantly they represented the school.
Here are some pictures of the night. Some video footage will follow soon…
